I'm back! - Skin Care Routine.

Hey everyone! I'm back after a long absence from the blogging world! Basically I've just been extremely busy recently, i've been on a few holidays, i've been working and also I've been pretty ill with a virus and chest infection so I haven't had much inspiration to blog! But I'm back now, with lots of new ideas and I'm going to start with a skin care routine post.. I still haven't found the memory card for my camera so i'll just be using internet images for now (i appologise, i'm going to buy a new memory card at the weekend)

So, my skin care routine - I've always been pretty lazy when it comes to my skin, even though i've always had problem skin that's prone to acne and break outs I have never really had much of a routine, I just use a face wipe to remove my makeup and that would be it! I'd always start one and then become lazy again and forget to do it! But then I realised it's important to look after your skin because let's face it - who wants to look like a wrinkly old leather handbag at 40?! Not me!! So I went to my nearest MAC counter and I had a consultation with one of the counter girls, she was really lovely and helped me to get exactly what I wanted/needed for my particular skin type. If you read my blog you'll know that my skin is very oily and I have quite a lot of faint acne scarring from when I was younger! I also found that no matter how much foundation I put on my face it would always come off before the end of the day!!

First of all she gave me MAC Green Gel Cleanser:

I still use a face wipe to remove the majority of my makeup, but then I use this afterwards and it's really good for removing all the makeup and dirt that the face wipe didn't take off. I normally run the hot tap for a while and fill the sink up with warm water, wet my hands a bit then put some product onto my hands, lather it up and put it all over my face in circular motions. After about five minutes splash my face with water to remove the cleanser. For a 150ml bottle it's £14.50 from Debenhams, but you can also purchase it from their website.

For toner, I use Simple's Soothing Facial Toner:

Using a normal cotton pad, I put quite a generous amount onto the pad and put it all over my face, you'll be surprised to how much dirt/makeup is still left on your skin when you look at the pad afterwards!! I usually buy this from Boots for £3.25 for a 200ml bottle and this is currently in Boots 3 for 2 mix and match offer.

Moisturiser - MAC Oil Control Lotion

This is amazing!! I put this on after cleansing and toning and then again before I put my makeup on and as my skin is really oily this helps to reduce the oil in my skin allowing my makeup to stay in place all day (using a primer too- MAC's prep and prime)  I just use about a pea sized amount and put it all over my face, concentrating on my most oily areas which are my chin and forehead. This is a little expensive considering the bottle isn't that big but it's definitely worth the price! It's £20 for a 50ml bottle from Debenhams or the MAC website.

I have only been using this skin care for about a month now and my skin has already improved massively. Although MAC products are quite expensive they are definitely worth the money as they actually work and do what they say on the packet!

- Just to be clear, I don't get asked or paid by anybody to do these reviews, hauls, etc. I do it out of choice :)

August Favourites!

Hey everyone! Again I find myself apologising for my lack of posts! I work all the time so it's hard for me to post but i'm going to try and post more often!! Anyway, it's the end of the month again already so it's august favs time :)
I also need to apologise for the fact i'm having to get my pictures from the internet for this post because i've lost the memory kind for my camera!! My first favourite product i've been using this month isn't a new product for me however i've rediscovered it, it's the st tropez tanning lotion, I stopped using this for a while because I found it didn't really make me very brown and it always went patchy!! But when I was cleaning my room the other day I found two full, unopened bottles of st tropez and thought i'd try them again! I was impressed and have been using it throughout this month :)
Another product i've been loving this month is Estee Lauder's double wear foundation, I absolutely love it. It gives me the best coverage out of all the foundations i've got. You only need a little bit to give you a flawless finish so you don't end up looking like you've caked it on which I find a bit with the Mac foundations, plus I much prefer the colours. It retails at around £25 in most stores which is fairly pricey but you can get it from outlet centres if they have a cosmetics company shop for £18!

If you follow me on Twitter you'll know that I've been on the hunt for a new mascara and not having much luck with it!! So when I was at the outlet store, I went to the cosmetics company and came across Mac's Opulash and I'm really impressed, it gives me great volume and length :) I think I paid around £8.50 for it when it retails at £13.50 on debenhams.com

That's all the products for this month, i've been really busy working and working for my boyfriend so I haven't worn much makeup over the last month! But next months will be more exciting I promise!!!

Superdrug Haul For Bargain Hunters..

Today I had the day off work and my mum asked me if I would go with her into town to help her choose some new glasses. So I went with her and my brothers girlfriend, but made a little stop at Superdrug on the way :) my local Superdrug is currently being refurbished but is still open to the public so it's a little bit of a mess in there at the moment. But I went in to see if they have the new MUA professional range in there yet because I went in there last week with samanth19 and they only had  the testers as it hadn't come in yet, but again today I didn't have any luck and it was still just the testers!! I'm particularly interested in the trio eyeshadows, I swatched the testers on my hand and the colours are gorgeous! I can't for my local Superdrug to finally stock them!!

However last week Superdrug had a free delivery offer on their website so I had a look on there to see if they had any trio's on there, typically the one I wanted they didn't have, so I got a trio in the colour 'Smoke Screen' which is perfect for a smokey eye. The colours are really pigmented and I particularly love the pearly colour to highlight my brow bone. They only cost £2.50 each so it's great value for money!

I also picked up the only 'Heaven & Earth' palette that was on the shelf, it's very similar to the Urban Decay naked palette which I use all the time and is around £32 so if you can't really afford to buy it you could buy this one, for only £4! It's perfect if you're going away for the weekend and don't want to take loads of different eyeshadows with you, you can just take this and it'll have every colour you'll need :)

A few months ago, I decided that I didn't actually like the applicator for my liquid eyeliner so I went out and bought one of the felt liners by bourjois but I lost it a little while ago :( and i've been meaning to get another one but just keep forgetting every time I go to town! So while I was ordering from Superdrug online I saw that MUA did a felt liner in their pro line, so I ordered myself one. It only came today though so I haven't had a chance to use it on my eyes yet but I did test it out on my hand and it does look quite good, so once i've tried it i'll let you know what I think!

Every time I watch makeup tutorials on YouTube it always reminds me that I need to get myself a face primer, having oily skin my foundation never stays on properly all day no matter what brand I use! So I picked up MUA professional face primer for £4 as I don't really want to spend a lot of money on one until i've tested it out and see if it actually works for me. I'm looking forward to trying it out :) has anybody else tried this product? If so i'd love to hear your opinions on it..

I then got a few things from the original MUA £1 line..
The only thing that annoys me about the normal MUA line is the fact that none of the shades have names, they're just named "shade 1, shade 2 etc" but never mind! I got two lipglosses, in shades 3 and 5. They are both pinky shades, but only a slight bit of colour comes out on the lips with the gloss.

The next three things I bought are not usually things I would buy! I got two eyeshadows and an eyeliner all in shades of pink. I don't ever wear bright colours on my eyes, I only wear neutral colours and smokey colours. But being a huge fan of 'The Only Way Is Essex' I saw Mark's sister Jess wearing a really nice light pearly pink coloured eyeshadow and it looked really nice against her blue eyes. In the picture the colour on the left looks more purple but I assure it's pink! The colour of the eyeliner is such a pretty pearly pink, it'll look really nice in the tear duct :)

Thanks for reading guys :) sorry it seems a bit rushed - I don't have much time at home today and i'm going away for four days tonight so today is my only opportunity to post! Hope you're all doing okay :)

July Favourites!

I can't believe it's August already!! I know everybody is saying this but the summer has gone by so fast, before we know it'll be Christmas! I haven't actually done a monthly favourites post before but I thought i'd start it as a new thing to my blog :) obviously I was away on holiday for two weeks in July so most of these products I used during my holiday.

Prestige illuminating bronzing powder in shade 12 - Sunkissed

When i'm tanned I always have a trouble finding a decent coloured foundation, I don't really wear much on holiday but I always have to put a bit on especially if my face has had a bit too much sun! So every night while I was away I used this bronzer as more of a powder all over my face, ontop of my foundation to make me look more tanned. It's got a slight shimmer to it but it's not too obvious, it still looks really nice! It also meant that I could wear less foundation and it covered up any of the sunburn on my face.

Hawaiian Tropic Body Gloss

I actually bought this without knowing what it actually was.. I'd ran out of after sun while I was away and cannot stand dry skin! So I went down to the supermarket near where I was staying and Hawaiian Tropic always makes my skin feel so nice when i'm on holiday so I found this, the English on it was so bad I was under the impression it was a sort of tan intensifying after sun/moisturiser type thing but when I got it home it's a moisturiser with a slight sheen mixed with cocoa butter. It smells amazing and it left my skin looking really radiant and glowing! Although I was in a bit of a daze when I bought it and paid about 13 euros for it! Which is quite a lot.. It's much cheaper in the UK!

Benefit ChaCha Tint

I've wanted this for ages!! Because I work at Debenhams I saw it the day it came out and tested it out straight away, I've really bought any of Benefit's cheek tints because I've never really liked any of the colours. But I love coral for the summer this year and I thought this colour would be really nice for my holiday. So I purchased one from duty free at the airport on the way and use it quite a bit on holiday. You only need a little bit of product though otherwise you end up looking like a clown! You also can't really use it when you've got powder on because it wets the powder and goes patchy. But I used it a lot in the day when I was on holiday with a light tinted moisturiser :)

Barry M nail pain in Peach Melba

I'm sort of cheating with this product because I did only buy it last week however, on my last haul I didn't get a chance to do a swatch of the colour on my nails because I'd just had them done. Well now I got bored of the colour the nail bar did for me and decided to paint them this colour. I thought I'd make up for not swatching the other day :) i'm loving pastel nail colours at the moment, they look really summery!

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss in colour 120 - Coral Reef

Mac lipstick in colour Morange

The two main lip products I used when I was away was the Revlon super lustrous lipgloss in coral reef and mac's lipstick in morange. I usually get nervous when it comes to wearing bright lipsticks, I know it's ridiculous and I have no idea why! But I have been a bit more adventurous when it comes to my lip colours recently! Although i'm not too sure i'd wear morange while I was at home!! It looks a lot better on holiday with a tan. I love the mac lipsticks because they feel nice a creamy and they don't dry out my lips like most lipsticks and sometimes I wore morange with coral reef over the top if i didn't want a matte look.

St Moriz instant self tanning mist (natural medium glow, fair to normal)

Now that I've been back from holiday for two weeks my tan is rapidly fading and i'm peeling everywhere :( boohoo, i'm very depressed about this so I thought i'd fake tan myself. I have loads of bottles of the st moriz mousse but it does leave my skin feel really dry and as i'm peeling from holiday my skin is already way too dry so I thought i'd try out the mist, I did actually want the lotion but the shop didn't have any so I tried out this and i'm actually quite impressed. They don't do a dark option like the mousse so I didn't think it'd be very dark but I was wrong, it's really dark! I've only got one coat on at the moment and it's just as dark as the dark mousse. It's only £2.99 as well, bargain!

Maybelline The Flasies Volum' Express waterproof mascara

The final product of my July Favourites is the maybelline falsies waterproof mascara, I don't usually use waterproof mascara but I bought this so I could wear a bit in the day whilst on holiday. I looked back at the photo's from last year and because I have such light eyelashes naturally my eyes looked horrible and bare so I got myself this at the airport. Usually I hate waterproof mascaras, they're either not actually waterproof at all or you can't even remove them when you take your makeup off. But this one stayed on all day even when I was swimming underwater and I didn't have a problem removing it with my makeup wipes a the end of the day either!

That's all the products I've been loving this month! If any of you bloggers have been using these same products feel free to comment and let me know what you thought of them :) thanks for reading guys!!

Collective Haul.

Hey guys :) ! As you all know i've been away on holiday, I've been back over a week now and i've been really busy with getting back to work and things so i've not had much time to do any posts! So I thought today i'd do a collective haul of all the things i bought on holiday and after :) I'm sorry for the photo's, the sun is shining so brightly everywhere in my house so I tried to do it out in the garden but i've never done any of my photography for my blog outside before so fingers crossed it looks okay! (I came in covered in ants - that's dedication!)

The day before I went away on holiday I was shopping with my Mum and I really wanted the Sleek Pout Polish in Bonaire from their Caribbean Collection, they had the tester there so I tried it out and I loved it! However they didn't have any in stock! Only the tester! I was gutted because they'd be perfect for the beach with their SPF 15 and they give you a nice natural shine and colour to your lips! But I couldn't get it :( however when I went into Superdrug when I got back from holiday they had one in stock!! So I had to get it! Bonaire is a gorgeous coral/orange colour and looks great with a tan!
I've also been looking for a light pink matte lipstick for ages! But I can't seem to find the shade I want anywhere!! Every lipstick I pick up is glittery or too shiny! So I text my good old friend Samanth19 and she said for me to try Natural Collection's Apple Blossom, but they didn't have that either (not my day of luck!) but they did have Rose Petal, it's still not the colour i'm looking for but it's a nice colour. I also picked up a Sleek lipstick in the colour Sheen.

When I was on holiday unfortunately we had a really bad day of weather, it absolutely poured down all day in Menorca!! Crazy! So me and my boyfriend decided to do a spot of souvenir shopping for presents for our families! I was very happy when I walked into the first shop and they did makeup! They had quite a big Clinique stand so I was having a browse on there when I came across their Fresh Bloom blusher/highlighter so I picked one up in the colour 01 Peony. It gives you a lovely glowing look and works well as a blusher or a highlighter!

My boyfriend very kindly treated me to Marc Jacobs - Daisy perfume at the airport, which I love!! It's my new favourite! I've never had any Marc Jacobs perfume before and I usually use Innocence by Guerlain but I fancied a chance as i've been wearing the same perfume for years! I think it was £42 for a 75ml bottle, but i'm not 100% sure. It's fairly expensive but the smell lasts ages on me so I don't need to spray loads of it. The bottle is also amazing!

The last few things I bought, is a Barry M nail varnish in the colour Peach Melba but I can't do a swatch on my nails for that unfortunately because I just had them done - sorry guys!! I also bought Bourjois healthy mix foundation after hearing so many people talk about it! I usually have to wear quite a thick foundation because I had very oily skin, but since i've been using my 'Fresh Farmacy Soap' by Lush it seems to have reduced the oil! So now I can use a lighter foundation, which is a relief in this humidity at the moment as my face has been melting!! I got it in the colour 55 :) Then I got a John Freda Sheer Blonde highlight activating treatment sachet, because I desperately need my highlights doing I just haven't had the time!

Finally I picked up an E45 emollient bath oil from Superdrug, the reason I wanted this was because I love Pixie Lott, she's defo my girl crush!! I read in a magazine that she uses coconut oil in her baths because it keeps her skin ultra soft and helps maintain her tan - fake or natural. So I went on the hunt for some coconut oil, I asked in several shops and most people didn't have a clue what I was on about!! As I couldn't see any on the shelves and nobody could help me as they didn't know what it was I thought i'd just grab this, it's bath oil but not coconut. Hopefully it'll still do the trick :) i'll keep you guys posted on the results!

Thanks for reading guys :) sorry any rambling, I tend to get carried away with myself especially if I haven't blogged in a while!! Leanne xox

Sun Care Products & Staying Safe In The Sun.

As I said in my last post - I'm going on holiday soon and it has gave me some inspiration for a new blog post on the things I take with me on holiday to look after my skin and hair. We all know the sun can be very damaging to our skin and it's important to look after yourself when you're out in it, especially for long periods of time like when you're on holiday. So it's important to remember to wear a SPF of at least 15 no matter how dark your skin is and to make sure that you top up your sun lotion every 1 to 2 hours to ensure that you keep yourself protected. I don't actually have very dark skin naturally, which is why it will probably come as a surprise when I say I actually use tanning oil rather than tanning lotion when sunbathing, sun cream really makes my skin itch and blotchy so I find oil is a lot more gentle for my skin. Every time I go on holiday I use Hawaiian Tropic, I make sure I use it in a high factor because I know oil attracts the sun easier than lotion, so I usually use a factor 20 or higher. It's around £9 from most superdrugs etc but I think a lot of places are doing offers on sun care at the moment as summer is almost here!

As the sun completely dries your skin out, it's important to get that moisture back in after a day of sunbathing! Especially if you've had a bit too much sun that day then you need to cool it down by using After Sun. If you don't use After Sun your skin will become so dry that you'll peel within a few days and then you'll have no tan at all! After Sun can be applied in the evening after a shower, just apply it like a normal moisturiser, but I usually put it on really thickly and let it soak in. I would advise to keep the bottle in the fridge during the day so it's more soothing on the skin especially if it's been burnt. The After Sun I like to use is Garnier Ambre Solaire After Sun Skin Soother And Hydrating Milk with Cactus Extract. It smells gorgeous and is really moisturising! It doesn't leave you feeling greasy or sticky and it absorbs into the skin fairly quickly so you don't have to wait around for it to dry. You get a 200ml bottle for around £7 :)

Every time I go on holiday I can guarantee that I will burn my lips and it is the most painful thing ever! It always leaves me with really sore, dry and blistering lips! Not attractive! So when I went to Menorca a few years ago my Mum introduced me to Elizabeth Arden's Eight hour cream lip protectant stick SPF 15. I fell in love with this product, my blistered lips cleared up in two days and it left them feeling really soft and moisturised! It was hard to believe that two days before they were so red. So now every time I go abroad I buy this to take with me :) you can purchase it  here for £19.00

Most people forget about their scalp whilst in the sun, I know I always do! So for holiday this year I have bought myself this Malibu Clear Scalp Protector SPF 15 which is £2.29 from Superdrug. I haven't actually used this product yet as I've only just bought it and haven't been on holiday yet but it does say that it's water resistant, non-greasy and quick drying.

So I hope where ever you're all going this summer whether it be abroad or just staying in this country that you all have a lovely time and remember these tips to stay safe in the sun and to prolong your tan without damaging your skin :)

Best & Worst Foundation.

Having problem skin has always made me rely on my foundation every single day and to me having a good foundation has always been a really important part of my beauty routine! So, over the time I have been wearing makeup I have tried out so many different brands and types, ranging from high end to lower end. In this post you will that high end makeup isn't always best! I'm going to start with a foundation that I really didn't get on with! Now I know so many fellow beauty bloggers have raved  about this product which is Chanel - Vitualumiere

Now working for Debenhams I always have a chance to have a nosie at all the new higher end products that come out and as I had a gift card to spend I thought i'd treat myself to a Chanel foundation. I have never really used any Chanel products and I was really excited to try it out! It's quite pricey at £33.00 for a 30ml bottle, so considering it's quite expensive I was expecting it to be amazing. I'm not going to sit here and completely slag off this product because I can see that it has been brilliant for lots of other people and I am one of only a few if not the only one I have seen that has said anything bad about it. After using the for a couple of weeks my skin got so bad that I had to just stop using it!! My skin broke out really badly, to an extent that the spots were so sore and my face was really greasy! Now I know this foundation is meant to give you a fairly satin finish so it may just be that it didn't suit my oily skin. Also being someone who likes a full coverage foundation I realised this product wasn't for me. So in my own opinion I wouldn't recommend this foundation to somebody with an oily skin.

Revlon Colourstay - This has to be my favourite foundation I have ever used! It's amazing, I swear by it! It's that foundation that will always be replaced in my makeup buy every time it runs out! I particularly love this foundation because it comes in two options - combination/oily skin and normal/dry skin. So I have no problems with my face becoming greasy towards the end of the day. It gives a medium to full coverage and comes in 12 different shades. It's still slightly expensive priced at £12.49 (Superdrug) but it lasts quite a long time as you really don't need to put loads of product on your face because it's got such a good coverage that a small amount will give you a completely flawless look.

Mac - Studio Fix Fluid - I do like this foundation, I think the coverage is really good. Probably one of the best coverage's out of all the foundations I have used, it also has SPF 15. However I really don't like the colours they do. They come in 'NC' which is Natural Cool for people who have yellow undertones to their skin, like somebody with an olive skin tone and 'NW' which is Natural Warm, for people who have pink/red tones in their skin. I find the colours I have tried in these are either too pale or far too orange and when I say orange I don't mean dark I mean bright orange! They do have a large selection of colours I just have never been able to find a decent colour for my skin. This foundation is priced at £19.50 and is available from Debenhams.

NYC - Smooth Skin Liquid Makeup - Finally it's foundation by NYC (New York Color) this foundation really surprised me, I actually got it given to me by my Auntie who had bought the wrong colour! It was slightly too dark for me but luckily I was going on holiday a few weeks later so I took it with me as a backup foundation thinking it wouldn't be that great anyway! But when I tried it I loved it! The coverage was really good and it's oil free so there was no shine or greasiness after it had been on for a few hours. The colour I also really liked, it was a really nice golden brown colour and it looked really good with my tan. It says on the NYC website that this foundation helps to control shine for up to 12 hours and I totally agree, as I said earlier my skin is really oily so most foundation make me shiny at the end of the day. This foundation is really good value at round £2.99 and is available from most Superdrug stores.

Summer Fashion Haul.

For those of you who follow me on Twitter will know that I'm off on holiday on the 9th of July! I'm going to Menorca with My Boyfriend and Family, I can't wait! So over the last few weeks I have been picking up some things for my holiday, I haven't actually been proper holiday shopping yet but I have got myself a few bits from various places I've been recently.

I've been slacking a lot with posts recently because I haven't had any time at all. Today has been my only day off in a whole week so I'm glad I finally have the chance to write a new post! On my day off today I visited a new Asda which has just been built near where I live and I was surprised at their gorgeous range of 'summer clothes' so I picked up this gorgeous bandeau bikini and at £2.50 for the top and £2.50 for the bottoms you can't go wrong! I'm really into bright colored bikini's, I think they make you look more tanned! All of the popular sizes had gone in the bottoms so I had to get a size bigger, which is okay because luckily it has tie-up bottoms so I can just tie it tighter!  (Sorry the picture isn't great! It was really hard to try and get the bikini straight!)

I am really loving pastel colour nail polishes for the summer, I think they look gorgeous and really summery! So when I went into Boots. I picked up a few of my favourite brand of nail polishes which is Barry M. I love the way they go onto your nail and they stay on for a fair amount of time before chipping. I think when I bought these they had a 2 for £5 offer on Barry M products so it was a bargain!

From Left to Right; Lemon, Strawberry and Block Orange.

Also when I was in Boots I came across this 'Stay Straight Anti Humidity Spray' from Mark Hill's Holiday Hair range. I love Mark Hill's hair products, I always use his 'Sexy Straight' shampoo, conditioner and hair protection spray but I never new he did a holiday range. I was so excited when I came across these because I have such a nightmare with my hair on holiday as it's so thick the heat and humidity make it almost impossible for my hair to stay straight and by the end of each night it just looks a mess! There's quite a few products in this range and the price isn't too bad! These include - Sun protection spray, Shampoo, Conditioner, Beach to bar dry shampoo and hair straightening polish. They also come in travel size. Here's the link to the boots page if you'd like to get yourself any of these products; http://www.boots.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/EndecaSearchListerView?storeId=10052&langId=-1&catalogId=11051&stReq=1&searchTerm=mark+hill+holiday+hair&newDepSearch=&x=0&y=0#container

I only picked up the humidity spray (£6.12) but I am definitely going to be purchases the other items before my holiday!

Finally, I went to Primark really quickly a few weeks ago. It was really close to payday so I didn't really get much but I did pick up these gorgeous sandals. I can't remember how much they were but i think they were £12 which is fairly expensive for Primark but as you can see from the picture above they do have loads of detail on them and they are gorgeous! They have so many different colours on them that you could wear them with virtually any outfit! So they are also really versatile :)
